3 of My Artistic Inspirations
These three people have motivated to either improve my artistic process or the way I represent my work on social media. They were the first people that came to mind when I thought of writing this post. Enjoy!
Bijou Karman is an illustrator from Los Angeles, California. I first ran into her work when I saw her Illustrated campaign for the Stance Socks collaboration she did with Rihanna. I was in awe of the vibrant colors, lines, and textures she uses in her work. It is very unique and makes me want to use more mediums in my own work like paint, markers, and coloring pencils. Here are some of my favorite pieces from her.
Robin Eisenberg is one of my favorite artist for the sole reason that she loves sci-fiction and shows it in her work. I am the proud owner of her X-Files pins of Mulder and Scully! Some of my favorite art she has done involves her animated GIFs. She was actually the artist that inspired me to make my very first GIF.
Professionally, she has made illustrations for Cartoon Network, Thrasher, and many others! She motivates me to not be afraid to experiment with color and animation in my work. She is an awesome lady who I hope to meet one day! Here are some of my favorite pieces from her.
Sam Larson is from Portland, Oregon and his work is so amazing! He is heavily inspired by nature and you can see it in his work. I remember watching one of his live streams on Instagram and it was so great to see an artist connecting with his followers. It was a note I took when it comes to getting more ideas for what to draw. He does a lot of traveling for photographs of animals and landscapes that ultimately is transferred into his work. This motivates me to actually travel more to places that will inspire my creative spirit. Here are some of my favorite pieces from him!
These are some of my illustrative inspirations from Instagram! I have many more but these are the first three that come to mind. Who are some people that inspire you? Is there anyone that you follow on Instagram that does illustration or design work that you think I should follow? Leave them in the comments below! I would love to check them out.
